Sleepless on Crescent Street and a Man Hiding Behind a Tree

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, July 7

  • At 7:56 a.m., a Mostyn Street resident reported a man in shorts only who was videotaping in the neighborhood.
  • At 8:25 a.m., a Littles Point Road resident reported a smashed window and the theft of a lawn ornament. 
  • At 5:55 p.m., a past hit and run was reported at Atlantic Avenue and Beach Bluff Avenue.
  • At 8:59 p.m., police received a report of a dog panting in distress inside a black SUV parked on Humphrey Street.
  • At 10:22 p.m., a Farragut Road caller reported that a bicycle was stolen and another bike was left in its place.
  • At 10: 54 p.m., police charged Mary Eaton, 35, of 22 Lee Court, Lynn with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, with no inspection sticker and without possession of the vehicle’s registration.

Monday, July 8

  • At 3:23 a.m., a Crescent Street caller said she can’t sleep because a first-floor resident in the building is talking very loud on the phone.
  • At 7:57 a.m., police received a report of a slim man in a black coat hiding behind a tree watching an Andrew Road home. The man then walked towards Monument Avenue.
  • At 12:10 p.m., a caller reported that a Stetson Avenue resident may have witnessed a suspect in a past breaking and entering incident. The caller asked police to take a statement from the potential witness.
  • At 1:46 p.m., a Walker Road resident reported receiving harassing calls from a friend of a tenant.
  • At 2:46 p.m., a minor accident was reported at Beach Avenue and Columbia Street.
  • At 3:27 p.m., a Bay View Road resident turned in to police a Remington target rifle that had belonged to his father, now deceased.
  • At 5:34 p.m., a Paradise Road caller reported vandalism to a car.
  • At 8:14 p.m., a Manson Street caller reported that five youth were trying to get inside a vacant property with a Dumpster out front.
