Updated: Welcome To Grown Ups 2 Movie Set "Stanton Station"

The train station will be open Thursday but both inbound and outbound service will take place on the Columbia Street side.

Commuters pouring from the 4:45 pm outbound Wednesday here in Swampscott found their station stop's name had changed.

The time warp will continue tomorrow for early commuters.

The station will be open for commuters but only on the Columbia Street side, police said. Both inbound and outbound customers will board and disembark on the station's Columbia Street side until about 1 pm. Commuters will not be able to enter the station on Railroad Avenue, as it will be closed to pedestrians.

There will be little or no parking in the train station area including Columbia Street, Railroad Avenue, Middlesex Avenue and Maple Avenue, police said.

The roads will be open to traffic but Railroad Avenue will be closed to traffic while the actual filming takes place. Police details will direct traffic.

Actors in Grown Ups 2, the sequel to the Adam Sandler movie about reunited childhood friends, will be on the set filming very early.

About 35 extras will be on the set of the fictional New England town, presumably in or near Connecticut if the Hartford sign is any indication.

The is a fine choice to set a scene in small-town New England where history is cherished and surrounds its inhabitants.

The Swampscott Train Station, with its signature cupola and Gingerbread scrollwork under the eaves, was built in 1868, said town historian Lou Gallo.

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places sometime in the 1990s, he estimates.

Organizers were told at the time that it was one of only three remaining stations on the northern line of the Boston & Maine.

Painters have spruced up the exterior of the staiton in preparation for Thursday's shoot.

No parking signs line Railroad Avenue. They say no parking through 9 pm Thursday. There was no indication yet from the MBTA that the train schedule would be interrupted.

The owner of , John Papanagiotu, said he hopes the road is open for his customers Thursday.

Nearby at the manager and chef, wife and husband Connie and Ben Carenza, are excited about the movie shoot across the street.

So is Xia He but Thursday is the day she works from home so she'll miss the excitement.

Still, she is excited about the prospect of a movie set at the place from which she commutes.
