ReplyI can't believe the sellers are coming up with additional demands for land they didn't pay taxes on, they can't build on, and they can't stop people parking on public ways and going to the public beach.
They probably haven't been in Swampscott in 30 years.
They probably have never set foot on their "property."

They can't build on it. It doesn't stop us from accessing the beach.
If we do buy it in town meeting, I won't be surprised if we find out that Jeremy Nissenbaum bought some of it, just like he bought part of the Synagogue.

ReplyWe should at least demand that the owners show up to Town Meeting and ask for their money. If they don't come to Town Meeting, we should vote this down.

ReplyWhy is the Town the plaintiff in the land court proceedings? They should be the defense, with a counter claim for property taxes.
Also, anyone who has every been injured on this property, within the statute of limitations should file suit for personal injury against this trust.

ReplyI say let them keep it and deal with the liability if anyone gets hurt on the property.
