The "Tunnel" is just organized bullying. Then the first assembly the high school students must attend is about bullying. Time to cease the "tradition" of the tunnel.

Morris Hershenson gathered the group to start the Little League in our town in 1954. We had a good many wonderful people, who all liked kids, who worked together for years, even though Al, Al, and Andy had the most longevity. There are many volunteers with 20 or more years in the system. It has grown and flourished from the first year when they had four teams of 15 kids each, who played at Phillips Park, with a snow fence to show the field boundary. Betty Dean Holmes

Nice interview. Good job, Al. You always said you'd outlast Andy, and you did! Of course, you started out coaching Little League at a younger age than Andy. He was ten years older. It gave both of you, and others, too, many many years of fun coaching the kids. And I agree, those grown men, and a few women, remember the great times when they were ten, eleven, and twelve, and baseball was their LIFE!
Many of the coaches stayed with it long after their kids were no longer in the program. It was a fun program for the coaches as well as the kids.
