Swampscott executed its game plan exceptionally while stonewalling the Magicians’ aggressive offense. (Feel free to add your photos.)

Two years ago at this time, players and coaches talked about what the annual Swampscott vs. Marblehead Thanksgiving football game meant to them.
Editor's note: We are replaying the 2010 pre-Thanksgiving video as the team prepares for another Thanksgiving Day game against Marblehead. Players and coaches both past and present talk about what the annual Thanksgiving Day football game means to them. Thanks to the bluegrass band Rockspring, which provided the music to the video, and to Louis Gallo of the Swampscott Historical Society whose extensive collection of Swampscott football memorabilia appear in the video. Also, thanks to VFW Post 1240 for opening its doors to the video makers. Rockspring performed Pachelbel's Canon on the video. The band members are Chad Verbeck, Rob Wright, Mark Aleo, Jon Aanestad and Kyle Tuttle.

The players pounded rhythms low and lifted notes high, belting out a signature thump and call that says high school football and marching band.
Band members took positions in a musical lineup outside Marblehead High School, an hour before the Thanksgiving football game. Swampscott and Marblehead stood shoulder to shoulder, blue and red, rehearsing their joint performance of the National Anthem. Topped in feathered caps and headbands, they formed rows — one part military precision, one part carnival. The players pounded rhythms and lifted notes high, belting out a signature thump and call that says high school football and marching band.
