The Magicians stole a close victory over Swampscott with their outstanding play in the fourth quarter.
It was Senior Night at Marblehead High School, but the night belonged to the Marblehead underclassmen. Matt Millet, a junior, and Spenser Craig, a sophomore, accounted for 37 of the Magicians’ points, leading their team to a 55-50 victory in a close victory over Swampscott. Although Swampscott took a seven-point lead into halftime, Marblehead was able to even the score at 36 at the conclusion of the third quarter. Stephen Bowers scored 30 points in Swampscott’s best win of the season.

St. Mary's Too Much for Big Blue
St. Mary's of Lynn got an early start on its New Year's festivities as it closed out 2011 with a convincing 58-39 win at Swampscott Friday night. Nick Gagliolo led the way with 16 points. When Dan Santanello's three-pointer accounted for the Blue's only second quarter field goal--(they picked up four points from the free throw line)--it lead to a 32-15 halftime score and the rout was on. Mike Walsh scored 13 points, including seven free throws. AJ Baker with 8 and Steve Bowers with 7 led the Swampscott scorers. Swampscott travels to Marblehead for a date with the Magicians Tuesday …
