Selectman to Meet With Local Republicans Tuesday

The Swampscott Republican Town Committee will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the VFW, 8 Pine St.

  The Swampscott Republican Town Committee will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 7 pm at the VFW, 8 Pine Street, Swampscott.   A sitting selectman will lead a discussion of local topics in anticipation of the upcoming town election and town meeting.   This is also a final opportunity to sign nomination papers of the threeRepublican candidates for the special election to fill the senate seat opened up with John Kerry assuming the role of Secretary of State.   The public is welcome to attend.  Join us for the meeting, for social hour after, or just stop in to sign the nomination papers.  For information, contact chairman@swampscottgop.com

Town Republicans Open Tisei Campaign Headquarters

Local GOP members will present a Q&A with congressional candidate Richard Tisei on Feb. 13 at the Marblehead VFW.

  This article was submitted by Jill Hart of the Swampscott Republican Town Committee. The Swampscott Republican Town Committee was out in full force to join Richard Tisei for the grand opening of his campaign headquarters this past Saturday. Richard is running for the 6th congressional district seat that is currently held by John Tierney, and he was Charlie Baker’s running mate in the 2010 gubernatorial election.     Members of the SRTC attended the event along with former US Rep. Peter Torkildsen and State Rep. Donald Wong from Saugus. Election season is gearing up and promises to be just as exciting and engaging as 2010.   An important part of election season is getting to know the candidates, their background and why they are running. …

GOP Town Committee Gives to Operation Troop Support

The GOP group held its annual holiday party last Monday.

The Swampscott Republican Town Committee recently held their annual holiday party last Monday evening at Paradiso Ristorante in Swampscott with the theme of "It's Better to Give than Receive." With that notion in mind, the committee set out to raise funds for Operation Troop Support. OTS was established in March 2003 on Boston’s North Shore area and is dedicated to providing comfort and care to our active duty military. As a volunteer based nonprofit organization, they provide the opportunity for our community members to express their appreciation and also offer support for our troops.
