Police are looking into the possibility that a Plaistow couple who fled the area after a horrific child abuse case had help evading authorities. Roland Dow, 27, and Jessica Linscott, 23, were arrested Thursday at Universal Studios in Orlando, Fla. after nearly two weeks on the run. Several alleged sightings of them were made around the North Shore. The two had also reportedly been seen in Swampscott. Amassive manhunt came to Beverly over the weekend as authorities investigated what turned out to be a case of mistaken identity. Dow was charged with first-degree assault for allegedly burning and battering Linscott's 3-year-old son earlier this month. A New Hampshire woman and her boyfriend charged with child abuse are on the run after the woman's 3-year-old son was found with horrific injuries at Exeter Hospital. A police report issued Sunday said Jessica Linscott, 23, and Roland Dow, 27, may be traveling in a blue 2009 Dodge caravan with a New Hampshire license plate numbered 2844129. They may be traveling from the North Shore to New Hampshire or Maine, where they have friends. The couple has reportedly been seen in Swampscott. Linscott's son, James, was seriously injured after Dow allegedly beat him in the head and burned his wrists and fingers. The boy remains hospitalized. A New Hampshire couple accused of brutally beating a toddler may be hiding out somewhere on the North Shore. Police had received reports of possible sightings of Jessica Linscott, 23, and boyfriend Roland Dow, 27, of Plaistow, N.H. in Swampscott on Tuesday and then in Lynn on Wednesday and in Salem on Thursday, reports the Salem News. Danvers police reported there was another possible sighting on Friday. Linscott and Dow are facing multiple charges of first-degree assault, neglect and endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly abusing Linscott's three-year-old son, James. A New Hampshire mother and her boyfriend accused of inflicting horrific injuries on the woman's 3-year-old son continued to avoid capture Wednesday. But on Wednesday night Lynn police issued an alert that the couple might be riding in a red, late-90s Volvo with green bumper stickers and a luggage rack, according to NECN. They were reportedly seen at Honey Dew Donuts on Western Avenue in Lynn. Jessica Linscott, 27, and Roland Dow, 23, both of Plaistow, are the target of a manhunt stretching from New Hampshire to Massachusetts.
