Dinner Date Gone Bad in Brockton

A Swampscott woman’s dinner date robbed her on Saturday after she left the table.

  The Swampscott woman knew the Brockton man for a week. It appears that may have been one week too long. On Saturday, a woman traveled to Brockton by train for a dinner date with a man at an undisclosed Legion Parkway restaurant in Brockton, Brockton police said. At dinner she got up to use the bathroom and when she returned to the table the man was gone — with her cash and electronics, said Lt. Paul Bonanca, chief of detectives for Brockton police. The man had been holding the woman’s iPod and her $150. No information was available on why he was holding her money and belongings. She waited an hour for the man to return before she reported the incident to police shortly after 5 p.m. The victim told police she did not want to press charges…

Afternoon Robbery at Walgreens on Thursday

A similar incident took place in Lynn around the same time.

   Walgreens was robbed late Thursday afternoon by a suspect reportedly dressed in black an din his late 20s. On Friday Swampscott police were investigating whether the same suspect was involved in a similar incident in Lynn. Swampscott police Det. Tim Cassidy said the department was seeking a better surveillance photograph from Lynn. Shortly before 4 pm on Thursday police received a report of an unarmed robbery at the Walgreens, located in the Swampscott Mall, according to the Marblehead police log. The suspect was described as being dressed in black, in his early 20's with brown hair, a soul patch and tattoos on his neck. We will report additional information as it becomes available.

Revere Man Charged With Swampscott Bank Heist in June

Rolando Gala is also suspected of robberies in Lynnfield, Malden and Revere.

A Revere man is being held for allegedly robbing Eastern Bank at 405 Paradise Road on June 19, said Swampscott police Sgt. Det. Tim Cassidy. Rolando Gala, 29, of 68 Dale St., Apt 2, Revere was identified from the video surveillance system by the FBI Boston Bank Robbery Task Force, police said.  Gala is charged with entering the bank and demanding money from the bank teller. Gala made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, Cassidy said. Gala is also suspected of robbing several other area banks including the Brookline Bank in Malden, Danvers Bank in Lynnfield, Citizens Bank in Revere, police said. Swampscott Detective Francis Delano assisted the FBI and State Police in the investigation.  Gala is being held by authorities but no bail or …
