Obituary: Douglas Finlay Allen

Douglas Allen, formerly of Swampscott, was born May 7, 1926, and died May 22, 2013. He served on various boards in Swampscott for many years including the Board of Selectmen.

  Douglas Finlay Allen, of Salem, formerly of Swampscott, passed away after a short illness on May 22, 2013. He was born in Boston on May 7, 1926, son of Clarence E. Allen and Elizabeth L. Allen. He was also the son of Katherine B. Allen. He attended Camp Chewonki of which his father was the founder, Rivers School and graduated from, Deerfield Academy '43, Harvard, AB '47, Harvard Business School '49, and received an ALM Degree '89, also from Harvard. He served as a lieutenant (jg) in the Navy in the Pacific. Doug was for many years a partner of Farquhar & Black in Lynn and a Director of the Eastern Bank. Obituary: Thomas William McGee

Thomas was born in Lynn, MA on May 24, 1924, and died Dec, 21, 2012. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday Jan. 5, 2013 at St, Mary's Church, 8 South Common Street, Lynn, MA. at 11 a.m.

Thomas William McGee 88, of Swampscott formerly of Lynn died Friday December 21st after a long struggle with Alzheimer's at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, Ma.  He was the son of the late Thomas A .McGee and Mary A. (O'Shea) McGee. A World War II veteran he served in the 4th Marine Division seeing action at Saipan, Tinan and Iwo Jima.  He served the people of Lynn as a city councilor, state representative and as the longest serving speaker in the history of the Massachusetts House of Representatives.  He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Grace ( DeClerico). Beloved teacher, wife, mother and grandmother Lillian (Swartz) Pearlstein passed away Sept. 21, 2012 at the age of 90. Visiting hours will be at the home of Cara and Michael Massey through Sunday evening and also on Monday from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.

  Lillian (Swartz) Pearlstein, 90, of Swampscott, Massachusetts passed away on September 21, 2012.  She was the daughter of Ida and Morris Swartz.  She was also the devoted wife of the late John Pearlstein with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Mrs. Pearlstein spent her early years in Gloucester, Massachusetts, later attending schools in Malden and graduating from Boston University undergraduate and graduate schools, with degrees in foreign languages.  She was a beloved teacher of Latin, French and Spanish as well as mathematics.  Her career included teaching at Tewksbury High School, Beebe Junior High School in Malden, Hillel Academy in Swampscott, Lynn English High School and Eastern Junior High in Lynn.  After formally retiring in …
