Woman Linked to Three OUI Crashes Arraigned

A Swampscott woman charged with leaving the scene of three car accidents in Marblehead Tuesday night was arraigned in court Thursday morning.

Swampscott Driver Crashes And Charged With OUI

The driver was arrested in Marblehead Tuesday night.

  This information came from the Marblehead Police Log, as reported in Marblehead Patch. At 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, police and fire units responded to a report of a hit and run near the intersection of Rolleston Road and Atlantic Avenue. Soon after, they received a report of another accident near the intersection of Commercial and Prospect streets. Deborah A. Churchill, 54, of 180 Atlantic Ave., Swampscott, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, second offense; leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Winthrop Man Faces OUI and Driving to Endanger Charges

The man's pick-up allegedly struck a utility pole and the impact knocked off the vehicle's front driver's wheel.

  A Winthrop man is due back in Lynn District Court next month on charges that he was driving under the influence of alcohol, driving to endanger and in possession of methadone. Salvatore Lamattina, 44, of 80 Somerset Ave. Winthrop, was arrested April 25, and arraigned the next day. He was released on personal recognizance bail. On April 25, about 6:15 pm, police responded to a report of a pick-up hitting a utility pole near 88 Stetson Ave., according to the court report. A Swampscott police officer noted the pick-up had apparently crossed the road and struck the pole, the court report states. Lamattina was also cited for a marked lanes violation. Essex Bridge Crash Results in OUI Charge

The driver's red Impala struck the bridge's guardrail and came to rest sideways in the opposite lane.

  An alleged drunk driver crashed on the Essex Street Bridge in the early morning hours on Thursday. Two passengers said they were uninjured and the driver was treated at the scene, according to a Swampscott police report. Jose Rivera, 48, of 8 Portland St., Lynn, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation, as well as a marked lane violation and speeding, court papers state. Police responded to multiple 911 calls about the single-vehicle crash some time after midnight. Officers saw a red Chevrolet Impala facing sideways in the wrong lane and resting against the wall of the bridge, Patrolman Todd Pierce, wrote in the report. Swampscott Teen Rolls SUV, Arrested for OUI

  A local teen was arrested for drunken driving Tuesday night after he allegedly flipped an SUV on Essex Street while under the influence of alcohol and in possession of marijuana. Thomas Ledbury, 17, of 251 Burrill St., Swampscott, pleaded innocent Wednesday in Lynn District Court to charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and being a minor in possession of alcohol. Peabody Man Charged With OUI and Leaving Accident Scene

A man arrested on Thanksgiving for allegedly hitting another motorist on Paradise Road while driving drunk failed to appear in court for his arraignment Monday.

A Peabody man accused of leaving the scene of an accident while driving drunk on Thanksgiving failed to appear in court for his arraignment Monday. Wualmer Guzman, 27, of 36 Oak St., Peabody, did not show up for his arraignment in Lynn District Court on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. According to police, at 9:56 p.m., local officers received word of a hit and run on Paradise Road.
