The state champ cheerleaders will be canning this weekend to help fund their entry at a national competition in Florida the first week in April.
Drop a dollar so they can holler. Well, the state champs need more than a dollar. And they will do more than holler at the Ultimate National Pure Competition on April 5-8. They will tumble, cheer and fly at the Gaylord Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. started off the show
At the end of Friday's alumni game at Swampscott High the scoreboard read Big Blue Present 66 and Big Blue Past 63. But the night wasn't about scores. Future Big Blue bballers, past players and this year's team ran the hardwood Friday at the tip-off to a season of hoops. Dance team members and cheerleaders took center court and performed their routines — swaying, kicking and flying high. All together, the cheering, the dancing, the youth game and the feature event combined for a full night of entertainment and set the stage for the basketball season.

The girls won 1st place in Division 3 and placed 1st overall against 7 other teams to become Grand Champions of the competition. In addition they were also voted Best Stunts and Best Tumbling by the judges. I am extremely proud of the team and what they have accomplished so far this season.
