Jennifer Harris was known as a wonderful, smart girl who grew up in the town of Swampscott with great expectationsMore and exceeded them by becoming a U.S. Marine. She graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis before being chosen to enter the Marines and was part of a famous Marine squadron called the Purple Foxes. This famous squadron saved the lives of American soldiers who were within an hour of dying. Captain Jennifer Harris saved many lives while serving in the Marines. Jennifer passed away on February 7th 2007 while piloting her CH-46E Sea Knight Helicopter over Baghdad. 

Jennifer graduated from Swamspcott High School in 1996 and soon after entered the Naval Academy. Prior to becoming a Marine she was involved in many local activities in her youth including, teaching sailing in the town and volunteering at My Brother's Table. The square dedicated to Jennifer Harris is to remember and honor her as a true American hero.
