He is not an executioner, he is a murderer.

MURDER - not even soldiers have the right to kill helpless, unarmed, wounded enemy !!!!!
Pat Kittle April 23, 2014 at 09:39 pm
Kitzer -- If I was mortally wounded, suffering horribly, especially while being caught doing aRead More sleazy chronic criminal act, I might like to have my suffering ended immediately. We could make the case that the effect of not administering "a clean finishing shot" would be cruel.

Ron Swanson April 23, 2014 at 12:54 pm
Lots of important things going on. One being Russia slowly taking over portions of the UkraineRead More under false pretenses of "protecting Russian speaking residents from aggression by a US backed terrorist regime", and we get stories on peanut butter and fluff.
Waverly Watchdog April 23, 2014 at 03:50 pm
The Fluffernutter SHOULD be the symbol of Massachusetts POLITICIANS at all levels. - - - They wasteRead More time on FLUFF and NUTTERY. - - - But, perhaps, it is not entirely the pols fault. The lapdog media must share part of the blame. - - - A case in point: This stupid story made Patch, but hugely wasteful public works projects and gross public sector union contracts are never mentioned. - - - But the pols know perfectly well they will NEVER be held to account for ANYTHING, because they can distract the media and the public with nonsense like a state sandwich. - - - I think we should have a 'state horses anatomy part'. I leave it to the reader to figure out WHICH part I'd suggest... HINT: Look under the tail.

This is a great article. If your financial institution has guarantees on fraudulent charges and theyRead More try to stick you with the bill or change certain terms and conditions without consideration or notice, make sure you seek legal advice from an attorney. It is very important that you check your credit report annually. You can check your credit report for free on the website mandated under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, which can be found at www.annualcreditreport.com.
Stephen D. Clark April 23, 2014 at 09:23 pm
That's just pure balderdash. Ronald Reagan usurped the constitutional authority of Congress when heRead More covertly and illegally funded the Contras in El Salvador against the express legislation of Congress forbidding it, the Boland Amendments of 1982 - '84. Nothing Obama has done compares anywhere near to that.
Waverly Watchdog April 23, 2014 at 09:31 pm
If ANY of the Obama scandals had been investigated with the ANY of the zeal that Iran-Contra orRead More Watergate were investigated, Obama would have been IMPEACHED already.
Stephen D. Clark April 23, 2014 at 09:32 pm
The reason that Obama hasn't been impeached is because there is insufficient evidence to prove anyRead More scandal.

Cops got a chance to play with their toys. Relax people. It's not like you had to respondRead More personally. Stop saying it's a waste of money. Then money is absolutely minimal. These guys were not called away from their golf games. I would also like to compliment the responders for not accidentally killing someone. It showed professionalism and did not add to the "trend" of killing "innocent" people; which is becoming an issues to watch. The people incensed over this should focus their anger on plastic shopping bags as many others are doing over at another great Patch piece. Evil lurks at the checkout counters across America!

The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld Michigan's ban on affirmative action in college admissions.

"The goal of Affirmative was to right an over two hundred years wrong." My family did notRead More get to the US until 1948. Are we part of the two hundred years of wrong? Hmm--it's all about academics. That's awesome. I wonder why kids play lacrosse or volunteer atRead More church, or play an instrument. After all, you shoulndt take into account one factor other than test scores. Cool. I just happen to think that not many of you believe that's the way it works.

Everyday Mathematics is just one of the programs that makes a heck of a lot of $ off of the millions of textbooks sold to schools that teach to the 'Core.' The Common Core isn't just restricting for teachers & students, it's lining people's pockets.
Susan Harris April 23, 2014 at 08:18 pm
"About the "socialist" or anti-American aspect- I know what people are talkingRead More about,.....There are to my knowledge, no CC social studies textbooks yet. It is the textbook publishers themselves (who helped write the CC and will produce all further materials anyway) who are twisted in this way. School boards don't actually read the textbooks they order....I didn't notice either until the CC thing came up. Then I said "What the hell is this?" ................................................................. .................................................................................. To put your mind at ease, what you were reading in your child's social studies books did not come from standards developed from the Common Core. CC standards only covers the content areas of literacy and math. On a separate note, High school history teachers, including myself, have long opined that there is a general void of knowledge coming from students in the lower grades. Since CT's American history standards received a failing grade from the notable Thomas B. Fordham foundation this is not surprising. But it is unacceptable. Just as our Governor, Commissioner, and State Board decided to substantially improve math and literacy teaching with the CC standards, we should look at the neighboring states of Mass. and NY who both rate in the upper tier- A, with their standards in American history.
Tamara April 23, 2014 at 09:24 pm
The Common Core web-site is a marketing pitch for Common Core. You must look beyond that and followRead More the money for the truth. People that are pro-Common Core like to say the same things over and over like, anti-Common Core people did not read the standards. They have no proof of that but they like to say it as if it validates Common Core... I could easily say people that are pro-Common Core are clueless about the realities of Common Core and don't really get what it truly is, but does that get us closer to best serving our children? No. I do hope people are diggin into both sides, and not just the sales pitch, but really learning about this because it is too important. *****************Everything that is anti-Common Core in this string has an article with names, dates, groups that met, etc. on this Facebook Page: Northville MI Parents for Educational Excellence There is also StopCommonCoreinMichigan. I hope the pro-CC people have done their homework and truly understand what they are approving. ************The Northville Facebook page has several examples on it of anti-American and pro-socialist materials. These are in the English course. Take a look at the porno book excerpts there, as well as the Percepolis book reveiw. ****************People are busy - if people all over the country are up in arms about something - there is probably something to it - please take the time to dig in.
Tamara April 23, 2014 at 09:32 pm
Also on the Northville MI Parents for Educational Excellence page you can see links to the tests toRead More see how bias they are. Teachers will teach to the tests and if they are teaching something you don't like - too bad because it is on the test! *****There is also a link to the social studies standards. The social studies standards and science standards are liberal-bias, anti-American and actually just not accurate in a lot of cases. They tell our kids that they as citizens are meant to follow all the rules of the big bad government, for example. Things that made this country great and are still in existence, are few and far between - like the government is for the people and by the people and has limited powers... You wont find what the powers that be (follow the money) don't want the kids to learn. ******We all know what Hitler and many others have said about how to get to a nation and that is thru the kids minds... The proof is all there - please dig! Read the tests. ******We all WISH this was just "minimum standards"!

Netflix is hands down the best deal going, and it has been a bargain for YEARS. I guess theRead More nonsensical whiners who complain about a long-delayed, $2 a MONTH increase are worried it will cost them a (partial) SINGLE LATTE. Utterly ridiculous.

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE AMAZON PRIME OVER NETFLIX: Here's an interesting article from today (23 Apr 2014)Read More about how Amazon Prime just got HBO to stream at least some of its older content, plus "HBO GO," to Amazon's new Fire TV box, thereby making NetFlix upset because NetFlix (nor any other streaming service, including HULU) has never been able to get any HBO content; and so Amazon has scored a real coup! The Patch has to depend on outside sources for their reporting. I just read the town warrant. 7Read More percent increase in the police budget due to the added costs of the new building? (276,000) Does that cover the smell issue too? How does the Assistant assessor get a raise of 20,000.00 dollars due to market conditions? Really? From 65k to 85k? Of course the school department budget is 25 million while the town budget is 12 million. With all that money why doesn't the school department pay some of the costs of the Turf field since they will be using it.
