Whale's Beach is a favorite of Swampscott locals, who can often be found lounging on lawn chairs or stretching out on blankets spread over the grassy lawn above the shore. The concrete structure on the lawn is what remains of a pool. Swimmers should be cautious, as there is no lifegaurd on duty.
