Monday, Oct. 14 is the eleventh (and last) day of the 2013 Topsfield Fair,
the oldest fair in the country.
Gates open at 10 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. at the Essex Agricultural Society's Fairgrounds at 207 Boston St. (Route 1) in Topsfield. The agricultural buildings close at 10 p.m.
The weather forecast calls for the day to start off with some fog and later give way to mostly sunny skies with temperatures into the mid-60s.
In the grandstand, it is the third and final day of performances for the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show. Performances are at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and each show in included with the price of admission.
The Parent and Child Cookie Celebration will happen from noon to 2 p.m. in Coolidge Hall. The cookies will be judged on flavor, texture, appearance and originality/creativity. The winners will be announced at 2 p.m.
In the arena, there will be a draft horse show from 10 a.m. to noon. The Figure 8 race will happen at 3:30 p.m. in the arena and the Demolition Derby is at 7 p.m.
On Arena Road (the road between the pig barn and arena), a High Dive Show will perform at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Cerel will put on a show for kids with magic and balloons in the picnic
area at 11 a.m. and and 3 p.m. and on the Kiddie Land stage at 1 p.m.
2013 American Honey Queen Caroline Adams and 2013 Essex County Honey Ambassador Stephen Sample will be in the beekeeping building all day.
The State Police K-9 Unit will be on display in the
Essex County Farmyard (across from Coolidge Hall) at noon and 2 p.m.
The ever-popular Money Pole game will happen in the Essex County Farmyard at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The flower auction, which traditionally ends the fair, will happen at 6:30 p.m. in the flower building.
Performers on the Trianon Stage will include the Ashley Dawn Trio from 10-11:30 a.m., The Bubble Show at noon, BE Imagine Music Studio from 2-5 p.m. and Dave Sammarco from 6-10 p.m.
Admission is weekend pricing - $15 for adults on Monday.
