A Recipe For Delight: How To Eat a Tomato

Let us know your favorite way to eat a tomato in the comments section.

Yes, a sweet and fresh native tomato is a summer treat, a kiss on the cheek and a pat on the stomach from the warm and sunny season.

Our favorite way to eat a tomato is to slice it, salt and pepper it, place it on a grainy bread with a slice of Swiss cheese and a swipe of mayo.

Marin Chith of Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury tells us his favorite recipe for eating a tomato in the video accompanying this story.

He slices a tomato, puts salt on it and basil and cheese. He says it's the best.

Tomatoes will be available right through the end of fall.

Marin grew up on a farm in Romania and is now a mainstay at the Marblehead Farmers' Market.

The Marblehead market is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon through Nov. 23,  at Marblehead Veterans Middle School, 217 Pleasant St. Enter from Vine Street.

Get your tomatoes at the Swampscott Farmers' Market on Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market is in the Swampscott High parking lot.
