On the Road to Find Out

humorous take on important and unimportant questions of the day

...on the road to find out...

Here’s a list of stuff I would like to know more about; some serious others not.

1) Why are American/Swampscott students not interested in studying science related courses?
2) Why do people talk on their cell phones at the checkout counter while the cashier is trying to ask them questions?
3) Why do gift certificates/cards have expiration dates?
4) How do the airlines expect to stay in the black if they charge less per ticket than it costs to operate the plane for that flight?
5) How come I can’t copy my music from the iPod to the iTunes file on the iMac computer? If it is possible, why doesn’t Apple tell you how to do it?
6) Where did the “other gods” go who are not to be put before the god of the 10 commandments?
7) Who thinks up names for drinks, such as gin and tonic vs. Tequila Sunrise?
8) How can a tornado stretch for one half mile on the ground?
9) Why do people ‘eat’ oysters? Why on the half-shell?
10) Why is it when the Pope dies, the cardinals elect the next one, but no other bishop is elected in the Catholic Church?
 11) Which is better: a tunnel or a bridge?
 12) Why is it in a very fashionable  (4 star) restaurant that condiments, salt and pepper are not allowed on the table? Does the chef really know how everyone likes something seasoned?
 13) Does it really not matter to the consumer if the meals tax in a city in Massachusetts is 6.5% vs 7%?
 14) Why is a corporation considered to be a “person?”
 15) Why would someone reform Judaism?
 16) If the ‘jig is up” means that you’ve been found out, the ‘game’ is over; what does the “jig is down” mean?
 17) Why is anyone in Massachusetts a Republican?
 18) What would Jesus do if you flipped him the bird--gave him the finger?
 19) If love is what makes the world go ‘round, why do we need gravity?
 20) Given all the commandments in the Talmud, how did we get away with only Ten Commandments in the Christian world-view?
