Summer Olympics Experiences?

Know of any Swampscott athletes who competed in the Summer Olympics? Have you been to the Summer Olympics and witnessed something special?

The US Olympics team will be represented by eight athletes from Massachusetts at the Summer 2012 games in London.

One of them, 31-year-old marathoner Shalane Flanagan, is from neighboring Marblehead.

Has Swampscott ever had a resident compete in a Summer Olympics? Have you ever been to the Summer Olympics and witnessed something special?
