Swampscott Stripers U14 Girls Defeat Hamilton-Wenham 5-0

Stripers start the season with a victory.

 

The Swampscott Stripers U-14 girls Soccer team defeated
Hamilton-Wenham Saturday with a 5-0 shutout in their first game of the
season.  

Amanda Szczawinski started off the scoring at center with a goal in the first half assisted by offensive wings Riley Lord, Liza McCathern and Morgan McBurney.

Szczawinski continued with two more goals in the second half for a hat trick on the day.  

Taking over the center offensive position, Maggie Barden drilled two additional goals in the second half to secure the win for Swampscott.

Offensive control was maintained by the Stripers throughout the game with
exceptional play by midfielders Anna Cilley, Julia Kornerup, Molly Marocco, Codi Butt and Margot Beaupre.  

Goaltenders Claire Powell and Olivia Sousa’s day was made easy by the defensive trio of Taylor McBurney, Rebecca Price and Anne Vogel.  

The Stripers soccer team is made up of Swampscott 7th and 8th grade girls and coached by Scott McBurney and Steve Sousa.  

Congratulations to the girls for their early season hard work and first victory.
