In Friday's game, Swampscott fielders played solid defense and Swampscott batters put the ball in play.

The team hit no homers but only twice in the game did Swampscott batters strike out.

Multiple players had multiple hits, and some of them came in key situations early in the game, Olivieri said.

The kids are having fun and supporting each other.

"(Players) one through eleven, I was really proud of the kids," Olivieri said.
