Swampscott High School's softball team will take on North Reading Friday in the first round of the MIAA state tournament.
The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. in North Reading.
Swampscott, ranked 12th in the North Division 2 tournament, finished the regular season at 11-9. North Reading, the five seed, finished the season at 14-6.
