What will you remember most Pesky?

As news swept over Swampscott and the North Shore of Johnny Pesky's passing Monday, it seemed like everyone had a story.

Some bumped into him at the Red Sox where he was a permanent presence. Others saw him around Swampscott cheering on little league players.

Share what you remember most and how you will remember him in our comments as we look back on this legend's life.

I ran into Mr. Pesky maybe ten or more years ago and got an autograph from him for my husband. When my hubby came home from work that night, I gave him the autograph and boy oh boy did he light up like a holiday/winter solstice tree...amazing. Rest in peace Mr. Pesky....and on behalf of my husband, thanks for the memories.

I remember asking Johnny if he could participate in the opening ceremony back in 1984 as the town was hosting the state Little League that year - He not only said that he would proud to join in the ceremony, but that year he used to drive Bill Buckner (who lived in Marblehead at the time) to practice everyday and said that they both would be there at the noon opening to help out - Thanks again Johnny
