SWAMPSCOTT LITTLE LEAGUE PRESENTS A COACHING CLINIC

Part 1 - KEEPING YOUR HEAD AND HEART IN THE GAME

Presented by Dr. Jeffrey L. Brown, Psy.D. ABPP

Dr. Jeffrey Brown is an instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a clinical associate at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts. Dr. Brown has been the psychologist for the Boston Marathon Medical Team since 2002 and is listed on the United States Olympic Committee Sport Psychology Registry for the 2004-2008 Quadrennium. A former collegiate baseball player himself, he is board-certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in both Clinical Psychology and Cognitive & Behavioral Psychology. Dr. Brown maintains a private clinical and consulting practice in Arlington, Massachusetts. He, his wife Carolynne, and their son Grant, live in the Boston area.

Outside of his private office, Brown is the psychologist for the Boston and Chicago Marathon medical teams and is on Runner's World magazine's scientific advisory board. His psychology expertise has been cited by The New York Times, ESPN, The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, Woman's Day magazine, FOX News, Family Circle, Boston Magazine, and ABC.com. His witty, yet meaningful messages frequently call him to the podium at various conferences and events across the country.

In his first book, The Competitive Edge: How to Win Every Time You Compete, Dr. Jeffrey Brown props up personal integrity in the midst of fierce competition and offers principles you can use to guide your character towards victory.  He shows how to become a legitimate winner every time you compete—regardless of whether you come out on top.  The book teaches the reader to redefine victory and aggressively pursue it in every competitive situation and demonstrates the importance of maintaining strong integrity and high character.
