Girls Tennis 1-1 in Two Days
On Thursday, the Swampscott girls swept Gloucester 5-0. Meanwhile, they look forward to a busy week playing four opponents in four days between Monday and Thursday.
The Big Blue tennis team upped their record to 3-2 on the 2012 season with a convincing 5-0 sweep of Gloucester on thegirls' court on Thursday.
Freshman Anna Raptunovich played at No. 1 and won 6-0, 6-0.

Senior Rita Tsokanis played at No. 2, winning 6-2, 6-0.
Senior Tatum Pederson played at No. 3, winning 6-0, 6-0.

The first doubles team of Ashley Petras and Allegra Walker won their match 6-2, 6-4.
The second doubles team of Alicia Coyle and Danica Villanueva won their match 6-2, 6-1.
Coach Niña Rogers was happy with the play and the results.
The match-up on Wednesday at home against rival Marblehead, was a real battle with the Magicians ultimately prevailing 3-2, she said.
The good thing is the Big Blue will get another crack at their NEC rival before the season is out.
First though they have 4 match-ups next week, playing Lynn Classical, Danvers, Revere and Lynnfield between Monday and Thursday.
In Wednesday's match against Marblehead, two freshmen went face-to-face at No. 1.
This was the deciding match because the score at that point was 2-2, with Rita Tsokanis and Tatum Pederson having won their matches at No. 2 and No. 3.
At No. 1 Swampscott's Anna Raptunovich lost to Marblehead's Tori Booth 6-4, 6-3.
The two girls will see a lot of each other in the next four years.
