Demo at Cap'n Jacks could start as early as today.

 

1) Newsbit of the Day: Cap'n Jack's Inn demolition could start as early as today, according to  Drew Crotty of Jemp-Marc Security, who organized the Humphrey Street buildings' clean out. The demo-preparation work went faster than expected, and, at the latest, the demo will start on Tuesday, he said.

2) Swampscott Scholars:  Swampscott's Nicole Raustad made the Fall 2011 Dean's List at the University of Massachusetts-Boston, which has an undergraduate enrollment of more than 11,000 students and offers degrees in dozens of majors.

3) Swampscott Athletics:  Big Blue boys lacrosse looks for its second win of the season today. They square up against Ham-Wen Regional High School at 4:15 pm at Phillips Park.

4) Weather Watch:  The National Weather Service is calling for showers likely, mainly before 8 am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 48 degrees.

5) Red Sox Watch: In three days the Boston Red Sox play their first regular season game of the 2012 season. It's in Detroit at 1 pm vs the mighty Tigers of Motown.
