The popular cross country and track coach was given a send-off by friends on Dec. 30.

On Dec. 30th the cross country and track community gathered to pay tribute to coach, mentor and man, Dom Finelli.

Dom coached at SHS for 9 years. He grew the program from a handful of kids his first year, to well over 100 athletes by 2010.

For his part, the former coach extended thanks to all those in attendance, extending special thanks to Kerin Walsh, Marianne Hartmann, Joe Tenney and all the parents for having the party.

"I send a warm thank you to all who took time from their busy schedules to attend including the current cross country coach, Jeff Bartlett," Finelli said. "This was truly a class act by all involved.  I wish Jeff and his future teams continued success."
