Big Blue Boys' Basketball Kicks Off MIAA Tournament This Week

Here's what is scheduled this week: 

Boys basketball

Swampscott High School's boys hoops team will square off with Lynnfield Tuesday. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in Lynnfield.

Swampscott is the number 12 seed in the Division 3 North tournament and finished the year at 4-13. The top seed in the Division 3 North tourney is Greater Lawrence Tech, which went 17-3 this year.

4-13 and they are in a playoff game? Maybe we should have declined and saved the town the bus rental & gas money. We could have used the cash to fill a few potholes on our streets!

Great victory and experience for the kids. They were so happy to make the tournament and thrilled with their hard fought win.
