Swampscott jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Ryan Cresta and Videtta's first score before St. Clement scratched back to tie it.

Just 31 seconds before the end of the period, though, Videtta slid a shot past St. Clement goalie Kyle Manning for his second goal, assisted by Gino Cresta and Chris Carmen, to give Swampscott a 3-2 lead at the end of one.

The outmanned Anchormen made things interesting early in the second period when Alex Watson scored unassisted, wristing a shot past Blue goalie Pat Sheehan's stick side, to even the score once more.

That was all the Blue would tolerate:  At the midpoint of the period Cresta slide a pass from left to right that right wing Nunzio Moretti redirected behind Manning to give Swampscott a lead they would not let go.

Videtta, with another Cresta assist, accomplished his hat trick with 1:27 left, and in the final seconds of the period Trevor Massey made it 6-3.

In the third period, St. Clement pressed but could not penetrate the Swampscott defense led by Massey and Jake Finlay, and Sheehan kept the Anchormen at bay.  Meanwhile, Rob Serino scored, and Moretti nabbed his second of the day to wrap up the 8-3 win.

Swampscott plays Beverly Saturday in a 4:30 game at Rockett Arena, Salem State University.
