5 Ways to Celebrate the B's

Go to the parade, buy a T-shirt and relive some recent memories.

The Bruins, we have heard, are Stanley Cup champs.

It's been a long time for the B's. Thirty-nine years, and the region continues to bask in the glow of a championship that few thought would happen at the start of the playoffs.

The Bruins' run and triumph swept up many in the contagious enthusiasm, not the least of which were many women who did not watch much if any hockey in the past.

Bandwagon riders or not these fans, like the diehards, had emotion invested in the outcome and the ride connected New Englanders the way sports team do.

1. Go to the Rolling Rally in Boston on Saturday at 11 a.m.. You do not have to drive. T-stops are along the route.

2. Buy a Stanley Cup hat, T-shirt, pennant or sticker. Olympia at the Swampscott Mall has a steady shipment sof T-shirts arriving.

3. Listen to Boston sports radio. Fans have yet to exhaust their delight on air. It's fun to listen to them talk about their favorite part of the championship run.  There's WEEI 850 AM and The Sports Hub a 98.5 FM to listen to.

4. Check out a book from the Swampscott Public Library on the original Big Bad Bruins and the cast of characters on the team. If they do not have what you are looking for the librarians can get it for you.
