Grown Ups 2 for Rent Starting Tuesday

The locally shot movie is out in DVD and Blu-Ray on Tuesday.

North Shore movie extras who graced scenes in Grown Ups 2 can see it as often as they choose.

So can families and friends and anyone else now that the Adam Sandler sequel is out Tuesday in DVD and Blu-Ray.

The star-stacked comedy shot largely in Marblehead and Swampscott in 2012 hit theaters last summer. It has raked in $245,111,361 worldwide, a tad off the $271,430,189 global take of the orginal Grown Ups, according to Box Office Mojo.

It remains to be seen how well the movie will do in DVD sales and rentals, but you can rent it, locally.

Melissa Strout of Chet's Video, 1 Essex St., said the store has 8 DVDs of Grown Ups 2 and 2 Blu-Rays. Rental: $3.75 a single night.

Tammy Sprague of Marblehead, head cashier at Shubies, will likely be seeing the movie on DVD.

She had an extra role in Grown Ups 2, spending a couple weeks in the Swampscott soundstage for the movie's big party scene.  She played Annie Lennox, singer with the 1980s band the Eurythmics.

Tammy gravitates toward movies. It was fun, being an extra, she said.

Tammy also had an extra role in the movie The Perfect Storm.

And on Monday she was among a small group of set watchers at the wall by Devereux Beach watching scenes being shot from the John Travolta movie  The Forger.
