You Asked: Agreement Between Ed Cronin and Swampscott Schools

The agreement is good through Feb. 25, unless the former business manager finds employment.

Attached is a pdf copy of the agreement between the Swampscott School District and former business manager and budget director Ed Cronin. You can download and view the document.

Superintendent Garry Murphy released the agreement upon request.

The agreement is good through Feb. 25 — unless the former business manager finds work elsewhere.

If he is hired elsewhere before the February date then Swampscott payments will cease.

The district is operating without a business manager/director, the duties being carried out by a group effort including the interim superintendent, Assistant Superintendent Pam Angelakis and Joanne van der Burg of the Superintendent's Office, Murphy said.

The interim superintendent said the district will fill the vacant position once the district's commitment to Cronin is concluded.

On Oct. 25, Cronin met with Murphy, and he accepted Cronin's resignation — effective immediately.

Cronin was earning $120,090, the interim superintendent said.

He started working for the Swampscott District in 2006.
