Who's It Going To BE?

Swampscott's Dick Baldacci dropped off his weekly painting Friday afternoon before the Big Blue football team hit the practice field getting ready for the Beverly Panthers Saturday afternoon.

You can win a lot of awards at , but if you're a football player, you want the Baldacci Painting that former Big Blue coach and SHS art director Dick Baldacci whips up every week for his favorite football team.

"I love Swampscott High football, I've been associated with it for so many years, Sammy (Big Blue captain Sam Gold is dating Baldacci's granddaughter) was over for dinner recently, what a great young man he is," Baldacci said. "All these kids are great, it's wonderful to keep being part of the Big Blue football tradition."

"Mr. Baldacci is very supportive of the football team, I had dinner at his house and the pasta was great," Gold said before practice Friday.

"I'm just happy to be involved with the team, I love these kids, I love this team and I love this this town," Baldacci said.

This week's painting has the line: Who's it going to BE?  with the Swampscott line going after a group of Panthers.

"It's one of the things that make football special in this town," head coach Steve Dembowski said. "This program is a family and Mr. Baldacci is part of the Big Blue football family."
