Time to Dance Back to School

Many customers who step through the door of Infinity Boutique at Vinnin Square this time of year are searching for dance attire and shoes and bags.

 

School will soon start, and that includes area dance schools.

As parents register their children and older dancers register themselves for ballet, jazz, tap and other classes, many of them will turn to for outfits, shoes and bags.

From the end of August to September the store sees about a 75 percent uptick in business.

"All day long we are doing dance," said Kathy Cohen of Infinity Boutique at Vinnin Square.

On Friday Kathy toured the racks and shelves of dresses, shoes and bags at the back of the store.

Inifinity supplies Boston Ballet and local dance and gymnastic studios with everything they need for dance but the instruction.

There are skirts, leotards, tights, tank tops, dresses, sweatshirts, big bags, little bags, bags for different kinds of shoes.

They come in traditional and hip-hop designs, and are offered by a variety of makers.

New to the store are the Zumba skirts. The arrival of the colorful fringed wraps reflect Zumba's popularity.

It's another dance to choose at a time when scores of dancers will alight on floors and step to rhythms with quickened feet.
