Schools throughout Massachusetts recognized the day as part of the anti-bullying legislation supported by the Legislature and signed by Gov. Deval Patrick in May 2010.

Stanley kids took the pledge a step further by wearing black clothes, signifying their effort to Black Out Bullying.

The black clothing and signatures reflect the students' commitment to combatting bullying not just on Wednesday but each day of the year.

In addition, students gave out "Pats On The Back" to fellow students and staff thanking them for kindnesses.
