Some MCAS Testing Delayed in Swampscott

Inclement weather has caused delays in testing throughout the state.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, MCAS English Language Arts tests have been postponed to Monday, March 25. 

Stanley and Clarke Elementary School fourth-graders and Middle School seventh-graders were schedule to take the composition portion of the test on Tuesday. They will now complete their MCAS writing on Monday, March 25.

The DESE made the announcement due to pending inclement weather. The tests were to be held on Tuesday, March 19.

"We realize that this change may be disruptive for some schools, but for security reasons it is critical that all schools administer the ELA Composition on the same day. Even schools that are unaffected by the storm must wait until Monday, March 25, to administer the test," the DESE wrote on its website.
