The first student-run car wash of the school year is here, and none too soon for those of you who have been procrastinating getting your car washed.

The team — arguably the hardest working team in town — is washing cars on Saturday, Sept. 1, from 9-1 at, 200 Paradise Road. The rain date is Sunday. The team asks for a $5 donation.

Proceeds will be used to help pay for buses to away scrimmages (the school only pays for buses to regularly scheduled games) and participation in a fall league with most of the other NEC teams.

Most of the girls are not playing a fall sport, but rather spending the fall getting ready for the winter basketball season.

The girls are both excited and anxious, and hoping that the athletic director appoints a coach soon so that they can be in communication during the critical pre-season.

This team is the defending NEC South Champs, and their goal is to repeat and get into the state tournament and beyond.

Returning varsity players include co-captains Ara Talkov and Alexa Goldman, as well as Anna Green, Rachel Moran, Bridget Lawless, Victoria Malatesta, and Jacquie Walsh.

All will be at the car wash, and they are particularly looking forward to bonding with some of the newer players as they team-up at the car wash.
