The boys ran away, 75-10, from their under-represented opponent. The girls triumphed, 58-28, against a full Winthrop team.
Monday gave Coach Joe Tenney a chance to try athletes out in different events seeing as the visiting team from Winthrop had so few boys track team members.
In the end the Swampscott boys scored a 75-10 victory, making their record 1-1, 1-0 in the small conference, on the winter track season.

Coach Eric Robinson said the girls' progress is about where he expected them to be at this stage of the young season.
On Monday against Winthrop, the girls won the meet 58-28.

Nancy Do in the high jump, 4' 8"
Melinda Wilson in the shot put, 28' 11 1/4", and the 600, 1:51.8
Vy Le in the 55 hurdles, 9.5, and the 55, 7.4
Alison Grimes in the 300, 48.6
Sarah Kelley in the 1,000, 3:18.3
Tess Gorman in the 1 mile, 6:06
