New Dean To Focus on Curriculum and Students

Former science teacher Lytania Mackey has been with the district for 10 years.

New Lytania Mackey's strong suits are organization and communication.

Both attributes will help the former Swampscott High School science teacher succeed in her dean of students role, a large part of which will be devoted to curriculum.

Principal Layne Millington said the new dean's major responsibilities will include professional development — training teachers to help their students meet targeted standards.
