Marian Court to Present Symposium on Bay State Economic Trends

Rep. Lori Ehrlich will be the keynote speaker at the Swampscott college's first business symposium, Monday, April 9, at 7 pm

 

State Rep. Lori Ehrlich will be the keynote speaker at first annual Business Symposium on Monday, April 9, at 7 pm.

The symposium will focus on current and emerging trends in the Massachusetts economy.

“As an employee or employer, individuals need to understand the signals of the marketplace; as a citizen, individuals have the opportunity to affect public-sector decisions,” said Professor Joan Thompson, chair of the Business Administration Department, “And as a consumer, individuals need to understand the impact of economic events on their spending, saving, borrowing, or tax obligations.”

Marian Court College is a two-year co-educational, Catholic private college which builds academic and professional skills.

Rep. Ehrlich is serving her third term as the Democratic State Representative of the 8th Essex District.

In the legislature, Lori proudly serves as the Vice Chairwoman of the Joint Committee on Labor & Workforce Development. In addition to her vice chairmanship, she is also a member of the Joint Committee on Financial Services, the Joint Committee on Community Development & Small Businesses, and the House Committee on Bonding, Capital Expenditures & State Assets.

Lori is one of three legislators recently appointed to a committee, which in collaboration between the US Dept. of Energy and The National Conference of State Legislators, is looking at state and local level preparedness for energy emergencies.

The event is open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
