Marian Court College Student to Attend Harvard Medical School Conference

The student is a Swampscott High graduate. This is the second year that Marian Court College has been represented at the conference.

, a two-year co-educational, Catholic private college in Swampscott which builds academic and professional skills, is proud to announce that Genudys Gonzalez, a second-year business major, has been selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants to attend Harvard Medical School’s “Biomedical Science Careers Student Conference.”

The conference goal is to provide African-American, Hispanic/Latino and American Indian/Alaska Native students with an opportunity to network with advisors/role models from the basic and clinical sciences, medicine, public health, academic administration and the private sector.

These advisors/role models will encourage students to complete advanced studies, and provide concrete advice and information on available resources, professional opportunities and career paths in biomedical science fields.

“This is the second year we have had a student selected to participate in the conference. It is wonderful opportunity for our students in terms of education and career planning,”  Dean of Academic Affairs & Student Services Dr. Denise Hammon said.

Professor Maria Decker commented, “Genudys aspires to continue her education in the Biology/Medical field, with the dreams of someday becoming a physician, Physician's Assistant, or medical researcher.  Her solid academic background, love for learning, strong work ethic, and compassion for others will assure her success in the health care field.”

Ms. Gonzalez is a graduate of and is slated to be inducted to the Phi Theta Kappa honor society on March 29th.
