Arthur J. Epstein, a life-long resident of the North Shore and one of the most respected and supportive community leaders, currently serves as Board Chair of the Cohen Hillel Academy trustees. In addition, he has contributed his time, expertise, leadership, and resources to many other institutions.

New Head of School Noah Hartman addressed the overflowing reception crowd and noted that, “Arthur, as a mentor to me, continues to motivate and challenge us all in wonderful ways. Thanks to the unprecedented support from this Gala, we are earmarking a significant portion of the proceeds toward recruiting, hiring, and retaining the finest educators in the world to ensure that our teachers are curious, passionate about continuing to learn, and constantly improving their practice.”

Doug Finn, from the Cohen Hillel Academy class of 2001, affirmed that “…my teachers lifted me up. The individual attention that I received at Hillel is without a doubt the major reason I can stand here before you as a Landmark High School Valedictorian, a University of Denver graduate and recipient of the university’s most outstanding senior student award, as well as the Pioneer award, my college’s highest senior honor. Hillel showed me what it means to be a Jew and I carry with me a great pride in being Jewish.”

The Hillel Gala was created 24 years ago and serves as the major fundraising event for the school.
