Special training for individuals and professionals caring for someone experiencing memory loss will be held at Aviv Centers for Living’s Shapiro-Rudolph Adult Day Health Center at 330 Paradise Road in Swampscott on Wednesday, September 21 from 5-8 p.m. The training educates and sensitizes individuals to the physical and mental challenges dementia patients’ experience. The Virtual Dementia Training allows individuals to go through a simulated experience to gain a better understanding as to the behaviors and needs of the dementia patient. “This training will give caregivers a unique perspective into the world of the dementia patient. It is an essential and enlightening experience,” says June Davis, Aviv Centers for Living Director of Memory Services and Supports.
