I find it humorous that both of you make that comment. Many people on this same blog wanted an external search for the position filled by Ms. Angelakis. Comical, yet sad.

Everyone is a principal for their first time somewhere. I beleive there's some vlalue in your current staff thinking there's a chance they could moove up without having to leave. Also, as we decide to drop half a million bucks to repeat a study done 5 years ago, it might be a good idea to have some folks around with some institutional knowledge; who may say "Wait a minute, we've BEEN through all of this already!" instead of someone new who repeat their own versions of questions that have already been answered years ago. i.e "Swampscott had 4 elementary schools? Wow, who knew!"

A A bit smug don't you think (your comment). During the School Committee meeting when Ms. Angelakis was promoted the Committee and Dr. Celli were quite pointed in their comments about the value of promoting from within. Just seemed odd that this 3 week search yielded no one internally. CS

Maybe, just maybe, no one was qualified, or if they were an internal applicant, they didn't make the final cut to three. Since I am assuming neither one of you was on the selection committee, your comments are baseless. If I'm wrong, and you sat on the committee, you are breaking multiple confidentiality laws. http://www.mespa.org/index2.html

A, I didn't post about the quality of the candidates (no I'm not on the committee). Simply an observation. CS
