Power forward Rachel Moran also rebounded well and drilled a nice 3-pointer, Roberts said.

A week earlier, the Blue lost a close one in their opener, on the road, against Winthrop, 31-28.

Again they played solid team defense, the coach said.

Friday's scheduled freshmen, jv and varsity games at Gloucester were postponed because Gloucester High School had no power, said Linda O'Keefe, of the Swampscott High Athletic Department.

The make-up games will be Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at Swampscott High at 4 pm, 5:30 pm and 7 pm, she said.
The game scheduled with Gloucester the second time around, on Feb, 8, will now be on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 at Gloucester.
