All Clear At Hadley

The elementary school was closed for two days after a huge blaze destroyed the building next door but school will reopen Friday.

School will be in session Friday at Hadley School after tests revealed the air quality posed no danger to students or staff.

The air quality was tested Thursday by the Marblehead director of public health, said Kathie Leonard, the superintendent's assistant.

Swampscott's health director was away so the School District used Marblehead's director, she said.

The school was closed Thursday, a day after the superintendent walked the school's halls and breathed its smoky air.

The air quality was noticeably poor, the superintendent said on Wednesday.

“I want to do an air quality test before I let them back in the school,” Celli said.

The superintendent said the school must make up the two days called off this week.
