1) Newsbit of the Day:   students took part in a two-day hip hop workshop conducted by Peter Navarro and Craig Dionne, directors and producers of New Age, a Boston based dance company, with dancers trained in contemporary, jazz, ballet, and hip hop movement.  The program was presented late last month and was fully funded by the Stanley School PTO.

2) Swampscott Scholars:  inducted 29 National Honor Society members this year. The society honors students for excellence in four areas: scholarship, leadership, service and character. One of the 29 students was Alexa Steriti.

3) Swampscott Athletics: Swampscott Little League baseball's regular season ends May 25 and the Major League's post season round-robin tournament starts May 28.

4) Weather Watch:  The National Weather Service is predicting a chance of showers, mainly before 2 pm. Areas of fog before 11 am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 66.
