Wednesday is Deadline to Vote in Primaries

Wednesday is the deadline for registering to vote in the Democratic, Republican and Green Party contests. It's also the deadline for changing party enrollment.

 

Swampscott voters hoping to cast ballots in the March 6 presidential primary are being urged to make sure they're registered to vote.

Ron Paul's name tops the Republican ballot followed by former Gov. Mitt Romney, Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Jon Huntsman, Michelle Bachmann and Newt Gingrich.

The only candidate on the Democratic ballot is President Barack Obama.

Three candidates for the Green-Rainbow Party's presidential nomination include Kent Mesplay, Jill Stein and Harley Mikkelson.

Voters in the March 6 primary will also elect state and town committee members for their respective parties.
