Voters To Choose Elected Leaders Tuesday
Below are lists of candidates, precincts, voting time and absentee ballot info. Attached are a series of sample ballots that include the names of town meeting candidates.
Tuesday, April 24, is the big day for local pols. It's the town's Election Day, and there are competitive races on the ballot.
Last year, in 2011, 18 percent of the town's registered voters came out and voted in the town election, the town clerk said at the time.

On Tuesday, voters will go to the town's six precincts between 7 am and 8 pm to cast ballots.
Voting on warrant articles will take place in two weeks, on May 7, when town meeting members will vote on them.

Tuesday, April 24, is all about the public voting for candidates for local offices including their town meeting representatives.
Below is a list of candidates running for office, the addresses of the precincts, the time the polls are open and the procedure for getting an absentee ballot — the deadline is today at noon, by the way.

You can make your application and cast your vote in one visit to the Clerk’s Office or request the ballot be mailed to you. If you wish to vote by mail, file your application early. The Absentee Ballot application deadline is no later than NOON the day before the election (April 23rd). A new AbsenteeBallot Application is required for every calendar year.
All Absentee ballots can be hand delivered by the voter, a family member or by an assisting person. All Absentees must arrive in the Clerk’s Office no later than 8:00 PM on Election Day.
Absentee Ballot applications are available in the Clerk’s Office or can be downloaded at Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/eleifv/howabs.htm.

Some Precincts changed due to the 2011 Re-Precinting…If you’re unsure of your Precinct please check the Town’s website under Elections Department or call the Town Clerk’s Office at 781-596-8855.
At the close of the election the meeting will adjourn to Monday, May 7, 2012 at 7:15 p.m. at Swampscott High School, 200 Essex Street, Swampscott, MA.
