Town Meeting Approves Feasibility Study
Town Meeting members on Monday voted in a near unanimous show of hands to support a proposed feasibility study and schematic design for elementary school needs.
A proposed study of options to meet the district's elementary education needs attracted broad support from Town Meeting on Monday at Swampscott High.
Numerous speakers said the town's elementary school needs and the opportunity for state funding to study those needs and identifiy options made the study a wise decision.

Opposition came from two speakers who said the town should analyze its priorities including drainage before appropriating a maximum of $500,000 — reimbursed at 45 percent — for the study.
